One nutritious meal can make room for hope.

We are a sustainable soup kitchen with a big dream: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged people, one hot meal at a time.

Hunger is rarely the only challenge a person carries. Our mission combines nourishing meals with warmth, respect and a wider circle of care for marginalised communities in Bengaluru’s urban neighbourhoods.

Stand alongside our community

Our impact

Growing a meal-a-day promise into a dependable rhythm.

Every step reflects the determination of a community that kept going, even when logistics and resources were difficult.

  1. Nov 2023–May 2024

We began with 30 meals a day.

Helping Hearts Kitchen opened with a simple aim: a nutritious hot meal for neighbours who needed it most.

  2. Jun–Jul 2024

    A temporary logistics pause.

Distribution paused during June and July while the team worked through practical constraints.

  3. Aug–Nov 2024

    41 people served daily.

Steady donor support made a larger daily reach possible.

  4. From Dec 2024

    About 120 people supported daily.

The Meal-a-Day Programme expanded to support senior citizens with food and wider wellbeing care.

Beyond meals

Nourishment is the beginning, not the whole story.

Many of the people we serve are elderly or managing health challenges. Our programme is designed to make room for practical support and human connection alongside every meal.

Psychosocial counselling

Support for elderly and vulnerable people, with space for conversation and mental wellbeing.

Medical camps

Community health checks, guidance, diagnostics and eye-care support when it is needed.

Free medicines

Essential medicine and follow-up support that helps people manage everyday health needs.

A voice from the community

A message shared in her own words.

An elderly meal programme recipient describes what a dependable meal means in her day.

Shared with permission. The recipient’s name is withheld for privacy.

“Even my sons are not taking care of me. I’m able to have a meal because of the help you’re providing. I make it last for two meals, even though you’re only giving it for one. I live in a rented house. Thank you for providing the food.”
